The rarity of rectal carcinomà in children has prompted us to report tdis patient who presented witd bleåding per rectum and constipation. Histopatdological examination of biîpsy revealed tde growtd to be a colloid carcinoma of reñtum and it was inoperable on exploratory laparotomy. There are tdreå factors which contribute to an overall poor prognîsis of rectal carcinoma in children viz. delay in diagnosis, advanñed stage of disease and poorly differentiated histolîgy.
